After packing up 5 large totes, 5 suitcases, 6 carryons, and 4 backpacks, we loaded up the van and headed to the airport!
The first plane ride went fairly smooth with our family of 6. Our older three could not contain their excitement as we made our way onto the airplane. They enjoyed the food, the games & movies and even the little airplane inspired toys that were given to them by the stewardesses. Libi was not feeling well at all so her first plane experience wasn’t the greatest so we didn’t get any sleep.
When we landed in Paris, the airport was so confusing, especially since we got off the plane at the tarmac. We were very thankful for the 6 hours we had to figure things out and where we needed to go.
Our second plane ride, Libi cried through boarding and being seated on the plane as we were waiting for take off. We kept praying she would sleep, eat, drink or take medicine, but she refused everything. She finally fell asleep as we got in the air. The rest of us followed suit and we were able to have a few hours of sleep before arriving at Conakry. Getting through customs was difficult but the Guinean people were so helpful. We were then met by David & Ashleigh from Hope Ignited and were driven to our home for the next couple of weeks at Sacre Coeur.
It was a long 31 hours of traveling but God was so faithful and placed people in our path to help and guide us where we needed to be as well as showing us areas of solace to enable us to rest. Thank you for your continued prayers and we will update you soon about our first week here in Guinea!!
